Objectives (course unit)

The student knows the grounds of the ISO code and the structure of the NC program. The student can produce a ISO code language program for to the milling/turning CNC machines and can understand its most general challenges and mistakes. The student can choose a blade from the tool library from the point of view of the making of the part form, correct. The student commands the utilising of job circulations and subprograms in the programming. The student is able to follow the editymistä of the making from the program mistakes and is able to locate the programming from the program.

Content (course unit)

Structure of the ISO code language and basic codes. Most general programming mistakes and locating and repair of them. Choice of the tool according to part form. Job circulations and subprograms

Students are able to produce flawless NC programs with little guidance.
Understand the basics of finding a program fault.
Capable of operating with a CNC machine.

The student is able to produce the most common NC programs correctly.
Can find and fix common programming errors in NC program.
Capable of operating on a CNC controlled machine.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

The student is able to make even the most demanding NC programs flawlessly
Can find and correct programming errors in NC program.
Capable of operating on a CNC machine under supervision.
