The students learn how to
1. use prepositions correctly
2. use verbs in their correct tenses in various situations
3. use adjectives and adverbs correctly
4. create grammatically correct sentences and questions in English.

Further information (course unit)
The students study independently on-line in Moodle learning environment and return the assignments according to the instructions given in Moodle. There are no contact lessons except for the exam, which is done on paper at TAMK.
To pass the course, the student must pass the exam and complete all tasks given in Moodle by their dead-lines. The course is aimed at students who wish to improve their basic grammar skills, so there are no prerequisites.
The teaching language is Finnish.
Location and time
Independent study on TUNIMoodle -platform. TUNIMoodle will be available during 16th May - 21st August.
Exam schedules
The final exam will take place in Moodle.

Teaching methods
Independent study on TUNI-Moodle platform.
Student workload
3 ECTS credits = 3 x 27h = 81h student work. (This is an estimation as the time spent on completing the course depends on the student's current level on English.)
Assignments:
- Moodle activitites: (discussion forum tasks, Flinga, H5P, GoogleDocs etc.)
The student has to perform 70% of the Moodle activities.
- The written assignment submitted at the end of the course (evaluated on a scale of T1-K5)
Content scheduling
Weeks 20-22 will be teacher-led studying (weekly instructions and reminders via Moodle, instructing the activities, commenting students' contributions. After this the students can work independently on their individual tasks, and submit them by 1st August.
