Student

- masters the theoretical principles and orientations of social pedagogy

- masters development work methods, action research methods and participatory methodology

The student can define the theoretical principles of social pedagogy and name participatory research and development methods.

The student can apply the basis and orientations of social pedagogy as well as action research methods and participatory methodology. He/she can utilize experimental culture in development work.

Commendable (5)

The student has adopted the orientations of social pedagogy as well as the aspirations of an inclusive experimental culture. He/she can use action research and development methods and knows participatory methodology as a whole. In his/her learning position, she has, together with others, devised innovative development processes that emerge from real need, enabling the active participation of community members and the utilization of diverse expertise.

Part 1: Reading a master's thesis and writing a pre-task essay. (0,5 credits). Timeline 15.8.-7.9.2022

Part 2: Having contact lesson (face-to face, 8.9.2022, at 8.30-11.30), study visit to a community work organization (7.9.2022, at 12.30-15.30) and having discussions (0,5 credit) Timeline: 7.9.-25.9.2022

Part 3: Reading scientific articles, making posters and writing learning diaries, and having discussions. (1 credit) Timeline: 26.9.-23.10.2022

Part 4: Implementing a work-life based community work project and presentation/video (3 credits). Timeline: 7.9.-22.11.2022
22.11.2022, at 8.30–15.30, (remotely learning) teamwork presentations, assessment discussions and closing the course.

Assessment methods and criteria

The assessment focuses on the following:
Active participation in contact teaching, visitation and team work. (passed/fail)
Passed pre-task essay, learning diaries, posters and conversations. (passed/fail)
Development task/project and it's presentation (+ video). Evaluation scale: 1–5.
The assessment is based on the criteria of this course.
