Objectives (course unit)

The student is able to examine, observe and interpret their living environment and visual image culture critically. The student is able to convey observations and interpretations through photographing. Student is able to collaborate in an international student team.

Content (course unit)

The student learns the basic digital technology of photography and creates a photographic work of art. Sustainable development.

Lectures and assignments. Feedback conversations with an opponent method.

Lectures as pdf-files.

Student workload

30 - 40 hours for in person and online learning, guiding and seminars. 41 - 51 for individual working with assignments.

WEEK 20

MON 16.5. at 10.00–14 (classroom 30015 and 30016)

• Start of the course: aim, content, timetable, evaluation criteria
• Borrowing DSLR-cameras from AV-storage. Use your own if you have
• Control of the DSLR-camera (short walk with cameras and some tips)
• Brief for an assignment 1: Self-portrait; concentrate to an ambient light and a depth of field

TUE 17.5. at 10–14 (classroom 30015 and 30016)
• Photoshop 1 (basics of the application)
• Feedback for the assignment 1
• Brief for an assignment 2: Milieu portrait of a friend; concentrate to a person and how you present her/him/they
• Brief for a main assignment: Diptych or Triptych (Sketch for artwork). Take two or three images to a completeness and give a title to your artwork
