Objectives (course unit)
The student is able to examine, observe and interpret their living environment and visual culture.
The student is able to convey their observations and interpretations through drawing and develop compositions that address balance, point of view, positive and negative space, proportion, picture plane usage, as well as provide visual interest and/or dynamism.
Student is able to collaborate in an international student team.
Content (course unit)
Students observe proportions and value by using a model for drawing as well as examine the use of line as a form of expression. Explore and expand on the use of drawing materials and techniques including charcoal, graphite, ink and mixed media. Sustainable development.

Assessment methods and criteria
Grading is based on your work, effort, attitude, class participation, and attendance & punctuality. The degree of difficulty and risk-taking of your projects will be of utmost importance in grading.

Teaching methods
Workshops, demonstrations, lectures, feedback seminars.
We will have slide lectures, drawing exercises and feedback. The majority of the course time you will be working with your exercises. The approach is monochrome. The necessary supplies mostly students will get from school.
Student workload
The majority of the class time will be working time, with some slide lectures and media demonstrations (72 hours).
In addition to class time, you should be prepared to spend 3-4 hours a week on your own projects (63 hours). The Drawing Sketchbook is the most important independent project.
