Objectives (course unit)

The student is able to work as a trainee in media and art jobs, get working life skills and deepen professional knowledge. The student is able to evaluate his/her skills from the point of view of the working life and set practical goals for studies and professional development. The student is able to apply theory into practice. The student is able to absorb the rules and practices of working life like agreeing on a contract, working within a team and scheduling. The student is able to observe and critically examine the culture and conventions of working life.

Content (course unit)

- Work placement either in Finland or abroad
- Learning diary for documenting of observations
- Written report of the training included in the portfolio

Assessment criteria, pass/fail (course unit)

Approved: A certificate of approved practical training period from the work placement company. Written learning diary and report including a description of tasks and working hours.

Not approved: The certificate from the company or learning diary or report has not been delivered.
