Objectives (course unit)

Student is able to observe and study his or her living environment and visual culture. Student alalyzes images in media critically. Student is able to present his observations and interpretations by using drawings and photographs.

Content (course unit)

The course consists of exercises executed in groups or individually. In model drawing section of the course student will learn to observe scales and tones as well as using line as a way of expression. By taking photographs student will learn critical perception of environment. Additionally, during the course student will introduce oneself to applied utilization of fine arts.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

Student knows how to observe his surroundings and transform his observations into photographs and drawings, but his work is vague or mannered.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

Student makes analytical observations of his environment and his work is new, creative and inventive.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

Student's observations of his environment are analytical and weighted. He knows how to turn his observations into structured photographs and drawings. Student has an excellent command of the basic techniques of photography and drawing.
