Objectives (course unit)
The student understands the control of the lifespan of product information, a product structure and these significance in the designing tasks and development tasks of mechanical products. The student understands the significance of the product data management, the possibilities and demands as a part of both the machine design and the product control.
Content (course unit)
PDM, PLM. The control of the lifespan of product information (LCA), a product structure, the product data management.
Prerequisites (course unit)
Students hasa knowledge of machine element design and student can design machine parts using CAE-systems.

The student is able to apply the requirements of product information, product structure and product life cycle management in machine design.
