Objectives (course unit)

Student is able to
- schedule and resource a small-scale light and sound production or performance event
- use modern lightning equipment and be able to take into account the active and contextual possibilities of a performance
- collaborate in an international student team.

Content (course unit)

- Rigging light equipment safely
- Basic principles of stage planning
- Lightning software and hardware

Basics of the subject.

Completion alternatives

Student who has been working as a lighting designer or has former studies of stage and/or event lighting design, may compensate this course or part of it by accreditation or showing competences. In such cases, the student needs to be active and contact Maaret Salminen (maaret.salminen@tuni.fi) on beforehand by email to get further instructions. This should be done before the course starts.
