Objectives (course unit)

Students are able to design a tool plate and welding, assembly and robot offering, as well as the cutting machining. Students know the safety and ergonomic regulations into account during the design phases, and are able to select and design a safe lifting aids. The students learn the different methods of preparation, the technology, the possibilities and limitations, and know how to apply it to practical applications. The students learn to design and engineering for automation robots and are able to design a robot-layout at a basic level. (Rapier, for positioning, sensors in the protective doors, light curtains, etc.) Students will improve their skills in 3D design software operation, and is able to effectively use the manufacturer's website available as part of the design components.

Content (course unit)

Planned to detail-level 6-axis robot grippers different, material different positioning methods, the transfer of the workpiece to be used trolleys and various Lifting devices and tools for machining fasteners, as well as taking advantage of the school in the 3D suunnitteluohjelmia.Etsitään effective manufacturing methods for preparing such copies. During the course, the graduates of modules are assembled end of the course on horizontal lathes serving robot cell.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

The student recognizes the requirements and is able to work with tool design for plate and welding work, assembly and robotisation, as well as for cutting work. The student is able to take safety and ergonomics into account at different stages of design, and is able to choose and design safe lifting accessories. The student learns about different manufacturing methods, their techniques, possibilities and limitations, and is able to apply it to practical applications.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

The student learns well to design the basic principles of robots used in engineering automation and is able to design a robotic layout at a rough level (grippers, patches, sensors, protective doors, light curtains, etc.). The student knows the possibilities offered by digitalism and understands the principles of sustainable development in design. Students are able to identify the necessary methods and solve manufacturing problems independently in simple cases.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

The student will master and deepen his / her skills in using the 3D design program and will be able to effectively use the components from the manufacturers' pages as part of the design. Students are able to apply the possibilities offered by digitalization in design. Students are able to apply their skills in solving and solving various problems independently.
