Objectives (course unit)

The students enhance their knowledge on the basic wood structures, such as the usage of wood, material properties of wood and production methods of wood structures. They learn the Finnish and especially European measuring norms.

Content (course unit)

Measuring special structures. Foundations and their bracing methods. Using the European norm with application examples. The usage of wood as a material. Assignment. Demonstrations in the laboratory.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

The student is able to identify and define the basics of the course and solve simple questions
applications that are similar to the tasks being handled.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

In addition to the above, the student is able to choose the most suitable one by applying and comparing different options
policy and justify their choices
