Thesis Idea and Planning Seminars (5 cr)

Objectives (course unit)

The student is able to
- select and define a working life oriented topic for Bachelor’s Thesis that supports their own learning and develops biomedical laboratory science
- make a thesis plan, justify their choices and definitions
- use national and international sources of information in Bachelor’s Thesis preparation
- independently and critically select information for the theoretical basis of the Bachelor’s Thesis
- apply appropriate research approach
- consider and respect property rights
- take into account research ethics and ethical principles of health care

Thesis idea seminar, choosing and defining the topic
Thesis process and its phases
Working life cooperation
Thesis design and plan preparation, application for a permit, agreements
Carrying out the thesis under supervision
Methodological studies such as qualitative and quantitative research methods and literature review
Research ethics

Prerequisites (course unit)

The student must have passed Introduction to Research 7B00EG46 and Structured Acquisition of Information 7B00EG45 before the course.
