Objectives (course unit)

The student is able to
- name and locate the main organs and structures of immune system
- define and use immunological terms
- describe the mechanisms of innate and acquired immunity
- explain the differentiation process and main functions of immunological cells
- determine and describe the most common immunological defects
- describe the structure of an antibody and the principle of antigen-antibody reaction

- can explain the basic principles and practical use of antibody-based immunological methods
- can explain measurement principles of analyzers
- can explain the principles of immunochromatographic rapid tests
- is, with guidance, able to perform simple immunological measurements and describe their operating principles
- learns how to work in a supervised small group and to pay attention to their own and others’ occupational safety and ergonomics
