Objectives (course unit)

Students
-are capable of guiding a patient in Swedish in radiography and procedures related to it as well as in radiotherapy
-are able to communicate in multicultural work environments which demand field-specific written skills
-are able to use articles and texts of radiography and radiotherapy
-can develop their language skills using diverse learning media
-acquire the oral and written language skills in Swedish required of state officials functioning in a position requiring a higher education in a bilingual office (Civil Service Language Proficiency Certificate; the competence level B1 = satisfactory, B2 = good, CEF*)
-The students acquire the written and oral language skills in the second domestic language that are necessary in their professional field, as required by national legislation (352/2003 8§).

Satisfactory 1 (Level B1.1)
Introduction of vocational know-how and data acquisition:
The student
-can write about his/her education, practice and work experience briefly in a manner that is mostly understandable
-can sort out the main contents of trade journals related to his/her work that are easy to read
Communication in the work community:
The student
-can communicate briefly with different quarters about procedures related to the patient in a manner that is mostly understandable
-can report and record the state of the patient briefly with the help of notes and support words
-can communicate clearly in situations that are characteristic of the work community

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

Satisfactory 3 (Level B1.2)
Introduction of vocational know-how and data acquisition:
The student
-can write about his/her education, practice, work experience and know-how in a clear manner
-can search for the most central trade journals related to his/her work and is able to utilize them
Communication in the work community:
The student
-can communicate with different quarters about procedures related to the patient in a manner that is mostly fluent
-can report and record the state of the patient in clear and understandable manner
-can communicate clearly enough in situations that are characteristic of the work community

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

Good 5 (Level B2.2-C1)

-can write about his/her education, practice, work experience and know-how fluently and versatilely
-can search for relatively demanding trade journals related to his/her work and is able to utilize and implement them
Communication in the work community:

-can communicate with different quarters about procedures related to the patient independently and versatilely
-can report and record the state of the patient fluently and versatilely
-can communicate fluently in situations that are characteristic of the work community
