Objectives (course unit)
The student knows how to
- plan, implement, and report on a forest-related research or development project
- set questions on structuring, limiting and directing the implementation of the thesis
- place the thesis in a meaningful frame of reference for a previous topic using related source material
- implement the chosen research or development task using appropriate methods
- present the results of your work in a prudent, final and reasoned manner.
- report his/her thesis in good Finnish and present it at a seminar.
Content (course unit)
A thesis-orientated course to familiarize one self with the different stages of the thesis process and to practice the skills needed to complete the thesis, such as information retrieval, process writing, and the most common ways of analyzing data. Independent thesis preparation, presentation of thesis and participation in the thesis seminar.
