Objectives (course unit)
After the course students master equations of flow technology, knows the structural details of components can design and dimension hydraulic systems and is familiar with the hydraulic required components.
Students become familiar with electro-hydraulic control systems and digital hydraulics, and how to design a proportional control.
Students learn about environmentally friendly water hydraulics.
Content (course unit)
Flow technology theory, valves and actuators sizing, circuit diagrams, system design and applications. Proportional valves, proportional control and design, servo valves and systems design.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)
Students recognize main components and know how they work. They can read hydraulics diagrams. Students are somewhat motivated and can work in a team and receive feedback.
Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)
Students are able to dimension main components and draw hydraulics diagrams. They understand power loss in power transmission and can manage it by choosing right components and systems. Students are motivated and complete task in schedule.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)
Students are able to dimension hydraulics components and draw diagrams according to standards. They understand interaction between components and hydraulics. They understand the principles of proportional steering and can dimension proportional systems, Students are very motivated and complete tasks in schedule.
Assessment scale
