Objectives (course unit)

Students are able to work as a productive part of the work place in the automotive industry.

Content (course unit)

The student is able to work in the automotive industry as part of the work community. Getting a deeper insight into the usual work tasks, techniques, occupational safety and different practices in your field at work. For each student, the training should teach the new one compared to the 1st training.

Students get their trainee jobs on their own initiative. Credit units are applied for with a form after the training in September.

The trainee job must be in the automotive industry and the job directly related to the automotive business. Other industries or jobs are not accepted as a formal training.

Examples of accepted jobs in garage engineering: spare part salesman, car mechanic, car inspection scheduler.

Examples of accepted jobs in industrial vehicle and intelligent machines engineering: spare part salesman, mechanic (any industry), purchaser, car inspection scheduler.

Examples of jobs not accepted: bus driver and truck driver. The reason for not accepting the jobs as training is their connection to the logistics and having only cursory connection to the automotive engineering.

Assessment criteria, pass/fail (course unit)

Practical Training 2 must be specific to the studies. Other jobs or tasks are not accepted as part of the training. Typical example of not acceptable job is driving. The second year students complete 33 day of training during the summer period, i.e. 10 c.u..
