Objectives (course unit)
The student
- is able to guide the surgical patient in the pre- and postoperative phases
- is able to care for the surgical wound and guide the patient in the treatment of the wound
- is able to make various wound dressings and supportive slings
- is able to plan, implement and assess the patient's parenteral nutrition
- is able to apply the principles of aseptics and promote patient safety

Prerequisites (course unit)
First year studies 50 ects completed, including the course on Pharmacotherapy and Medical Calculations.
Participation in the courses on Surgical Nursing and Intravenous Fluid Therapy and Blood Transfusion.
