Objectives (course unit)

Opiskelijalla on taidot suoriutua B- tai A-tasoisista teoksista konserttitilanteessa. Hän kykenee itsenäiseen taiteelliseen ilmaisuun ja laajojen muotokokonaisuuksien hallintaan. Opiskelija pystyy hyödyntämään ammattikirjallisuutta, tutkimusjulkaisuja ja musiikin hahmottamisen, historian ja kirjoittamisen taitojaan instrumenttiosaamisen kehittämisessä. Opiskelija on omaksunut reflektoinnin taidon eli kyvyn tarkastella omaa työtään analyyttisesti. Opiskelijalla on riittävä instrumenttiosaaminen muusikon tai musiikkipedagogin työssä toimimiseen ja jatko-opintoihin.

B- tai A-tasoisen ohjelmiston soittotekninen ja sisällöllinen hallinta.

Location and time

Musical theatre:
Agreed with the teacher. There is 26 lessons per academic year, duration 60min/ lesson

Exam schedules

Musical theatre:
Separately at agreed times during the academic year.

Evaluation methods and criteria

Musical theatre:
Regular participation to lessons (and master classes and concerts). Combine and execute a concert (10 - 12 pieces or 45-60min duration)

Regular participation to lessons (and master classes and concerts).

Learning materials

Musical theatre:
Repertoire is agreed withthe the teacher. Musical theatre repertoire is included.

Student workload

Musical theatre:
Requires commitment and regular participation in teaching, as well as regular personal training. Master classes and concerts are important part of education.

Content scheduling

Musical theatre:
Season is entire except period-weeks, when there is no pegular lessons.
Periods at autumn weeks 45, 46 and 50
Periods at spring weeks 7 - 8

Student hasn´t participated lessons and there is significant gap of expertise.

Assessment criteria - satisfactory (1-2) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)

Musical theatre:
Evaluation criteria Satisfactory (1-2)
The student is capable of performing repertoire of professional level.
The artistic and technical mastery of the instrument is at a satisfactory level. The sound culture is restricted. Mastery of musical entities is poor.

Assessment criteria - good (3-4) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)

Musical theatre:
The student has mastered and is capable of presentingthe repertoire technically and artistically and brings out the charasteristic features of differenr styles.. The student`s sound culture and use of the voice are reasonably diverse and mastery of musical entities is good.

Assessment criteria - excellent (5) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)

Musical theatre:
The student demonstrates not only ecxellent technical mastery but also artistic and personal power of expression.
The student`s portrayal of different styles is particularly impressive. The student has acquired a rich sound culture and controlled use of the voice and is also capable of creating interesting artistic entities.
