Student
Knows the social service system and its changing functional environment and recognizes their development needs
Knows the core legal basis and management principals of social work and sevices
Has abilities for critical analysis of societal and global changes and their social impacts
Is able to apply forecasting information and methods in planning fo r evolving social and health services

Global and local challenges for social policy and social services
Functional environment and legislative basis of social services
Production models and management principals of social services
Structural reforml and regional development of services
Forecasting and future research in planning social and heath services

Has basic knowledge of futures research, its concepts, process and its methods. The student is able to apply some methods in practice.

In addition to previous: The student has ability to apply futures research methods in a versatile and analytical way in practice. Is able to analyse the possibilities and challenges in futures research.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

In addition to previous the student shows creativity and innovatiness in applying futures research and is also able to analyze the approach critically.

Dissmissed
The student does not know the concepts related to futures research and the process and methods of basics of futures research and is not able to apply them. Has not finished assignments or they have not been completed.

Three remote sessions via Zoom, 13 Jan, 10 Feb, and 26 Mar with various content areas.

Remote lectures via Zoom, small group assignments and individual reflection- ja application work.

Materials on the Moodle course page, teacher's materials and Master's students self-directed acquisition of knowledge.

Content scheduling

1st remote session via Zoom consists of introduction and PESTE analysis; the 2nd remote session via Zoom consists of scenario thinking and weak signals, and the 3rd remote session via Zoom deals with scenario presentations and strategic foresight and agile strategizing
