Objectives (course unit)

Students are able to plan and carry out classes matching with the learners aims and needs or projects of higher level both in terms of knowledge and skills.
Students are able to take the role of an expert in the field of vocational education.
They are capable of peforming their duties in different operative environments, to further develop them, and to make methodological changes to own instruction to fit it according to the needs of the target group of the instruction.
They also consider the principles of sustainable development in their duties.

Choral and orchestra conductor:
Students are able to direct choirs and orchestras in demanding concert and rehearsing venues. They improve their pedagogical skills in planning a long-term curriculum for a choir or orchestra. Students has developed an identity as a professional conductor and he/she is capable of working in demanding artistic venues.

Content (course unit)

Students are teaching one advanced Pupil and working as an assistant in the field of vocational education. They are making acquaintance with various learning environments and work communities. Students will observe Lessons with the Plan given by their Tutor Teacher. They are reflecting their experiences.

Choral and orchestra conductor:
Choral: Working with choral conducting class’s vocal ensemble and the student’s own choir or ensemble. Working as chorus master in an opera or orchestra production.
Orchestra: Working with the rehearsal instruments of the conducting class.
Observing choirs/orchestras of different levels and age groups. Observing voice and instrument pedagogy or Musical Theatre pedagogy.
