Objectives (course unit)

After completing the course, the student:
- is familiar with the Finnish zoning system, plan levels and is able to interpret layout plans; and
entries
- knows the classification of city traffic lanes, the related legislation and street planning levels and can interpret street plans drawings
- knows the principles of organizing water supply in the community and is able to interpret water supply drawings
- is familiar with infrastructure engineering as a profession and recognizes the interdependencies between different sectors of infrastructure and building construction;
- knows soil classifications, naming criteria and is able to name Finnish soil on the basis of the grain size curve and identify soil types
- can read basic research documents
- knows earthly founding methods
- is able to carry out laboratory and field tests conducted in the course under supervision and knows why. studies are needed

Content (course unit)

Land use planning and planning
• Corridor classification, legislation and administration
• Street features, geometry, cross section and structures
• Roof plans and drawing marks on them
• Water distribution and drainage systems and their structures
• Connection of the property to the water and sewerage network
• Organization of water supply in sparsely populated areas

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

After completing the course, the student:
• Knows planning to guide construction
• knows what systems are included in community technology
• knows the main features of street and water management plans
• Is familiar with the ways in which the community water supply is organized
• be able to name soil types based on grain size curves
• Is familiar with different ways of setting up
• is able to independently calculate the calculations according to the example
• Is able to operate in the laboratory according to instructions and report the results
• be able to name different bottom examination methods

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

In addition to the above, the student:
• Understand how planning and infrastructure construction are interrelated
• Is familiar with the mission of infrastructure construction and the operating environment of road and street management
• Is familiar with the municipal water supply systems, their materials and construction methods, with essential quality requirements
• Knows when different founding methods are used
• is able to read ground examination documents
• Is active in classes

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

In addition to the above, the student:
- is very active in the lessons and shows a particular interest in the topic
- the student has a good knowledge of all subject areas of the course
