Objectives (course unit)
Student is able to
-describe haemostasis, blood coagulation and fibrinolysis in outline
-describe diseases in which coagulation tests are required both in diagnostic and treatment
-take, handle and preserve coagulation specimens for P-APTT, P-SPA
-determinate good-quality P-APTT and P-TT-INR / P-SPA using optic or conductivity- based analysers
- define INR with POC equipment ( point of care) reliable
- explain the function mechanisms and measurement principles of automatic cell counters and automatic microscopy in production of haematology and estimate their reability also as regards pathological bloods amples
- indentify and differentiate patological blood cells based on identification criteria and learn to integrate theories and findings in different diseases
-critically evaluate future, quality and economy of haematological production, e.g. automated cell calculation and POC -tests
Content (course unit)
Laboratory diagnostics and disorders of haemostasis, blood coagulation and fibrionolysis
Development of quality in clinical haematology and application in cell morphology are part of this course but will partly take place after the clinical training period.
Prerequisites (course unit)
The student must have passed 7B00BC23 Orientation to Haematology and Basic Tests and 7BC00BC44 The Diagnostics of Anaemias and Malignant Blood Diseases before the course 7B00BC25. The student must have passed the course certain parts of the course as specifield by the teacher before 13SBIO-1016 Clinical Training in Clinical Haematology.
