Objectives (course unit)
The student is able to
- identify the principles of home automation systems used in residential buildings
- utilize the potential of home automation systems and identify needs for residential building automation
- document the home automation system as part of the residential building design plans.
- select the necessary automation equipment based on the defined functionalities and documents.
Content (course unit)
Structure and principles of automation systems used in residential buildings as well as utilization possibilities. Automation system configuration, programming and implementation exercises in demo environments. Design and documentation exercises related to the private home environment.
Prerequisites (course unit)
Study in Building Services in Residential Building or equivalent
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)
The student is able to describe the most common functionalities implemented by home automation systems.
The student has taken part in assignments, but the work is schematic and requires considerable guidance.
The student is able to document a home automation system using model.
Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)
The student is able to describe comprehensively the different possibilities of home automation systems and to define the structure of the system required for their implementation.
The student has actively and spontaneously participated in assignments and promoted group activities.
The student is able to document a defined home automation system. There may be slight inconsistencies in the documentation
Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)
The student thoroughly recognizes the operating principles of home automation systems and is able to apply his / her understanding to describe different possibilities.
The student is able to create a new need for a home automation system and takes into account the entire life cycle of the building.
The student has completed the assignments independently and has shown activity by helping others with the assignments.
The student is able to properly document the home automation system he / she has defined.
