Objectives (course unit)
The student is able to
• Define basic concepts of heat transfer technology and flow technology
• Apply flow technology in the design and flow balancing of building systems networks
• Identify conventional heat transfer applications for HVAC technology
Content (course unit)
Basic concepts of heat technology and flow technology. Dimensioning of building systems and flow balancing. Pipeline dimensioning in closed and open circuit with dimensioning diagrams and computation. Single-piece piping accessories. Performance of heat exchangers, pumps and fans with characteristic curves. Forms of heat transfer and heat loss calculations in the case of planes and pipes. Determination of the heat transfer coefficient.

The student recognizes the basic concepts of heat transfer and flow theory.
The student is able to make simple flow and temperature calculations
Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)
The student is able to apply the concepts of heat transfer and flow theory to practical LVL technical problems.
The student is able to make applied flow calculations
Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)
Students master the concepts and calculation principles of heat transfer and flow theory.
The student can also apply them smoothly in different HVAC technical problems and calculations.
