Objectives (course unit)
The student:
- knows how to act in working life communication situations (e.g. telephone and e-mail communication)
- knows the most important forestry vocabulary
- knows how to write job application documents and take part in a job interview in English
- is able to give a presentation in English and explain the principles of forestry in English

Assessment methods and criteria
Aims:
- knows how to act in working life communication situations
- knows the most important forestry vocabulary
- knows how to write job application documents and take part in a job interview in English
- is able to speak publicly in English and explain the principles of forestry in English
To pass the course you need to:
- submit a skills based CV and a job application
- write a business email concerning forestry/ some other written task
- give a workshop: plan, produce material, lead the session and give feedback to your fellow studets
- take a test on forest vocabulary and writing (electrical examination)
- review your language skills at the end of the course
Assessment is based on the European Language Framework

- write simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest. I can write personal letters describing experiences and impressions

- interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible.
- take an active part in discussion in familiar contexts
- present clear, detailed descriptions on a wide range of subjects.

- write clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects as well as abstracts of material related to one's own field
