Objectives (course unit)

Yrittäjät saavat rohkeutta verkostoitua kansainvälisesti. He oppivat näkemään ja tunnistamaan uusia mahdollisuuksia oman liiketoiminnan kehittämiseen. Yrittäjä osaa erottaa tilanteet, koska kannattaa lähteä kansaivälistymiseen ja millä ehdoilla se ei ole kannattavaa.

Mitkä tekijät vaikuttavat rohkeuteen kansainvälistyä?
Mitkä asiat mahdollistavat/vaikeuttavat yritykseni kansainvälistymistä?
Miten yritykseni voi aloittaa kansainvälistymisen? Mitä se edellyttää?
Haluanko yrittäjänä, että yritykseni toimii kansainvälisesti vai riittääkö kotimarkkinat?

Hyväksytty:
Opiskelija osaa suunnitella ja kehittää oman yrityksensä kansainvälistymistä omista tarpeista käsin. Hän pystyy analysoimaan tilannetta ja muuttaa kansainvälistymisen strategiaa tarvittaessa. Hän osaa tunnistaa ja analysoida uusia mahdollisuuksia kansainväliseen kasvuun ja kehittää osaamistaan kasvun kannattamisen näkökulmasta. Hän osaa tarvittaessa rakentaa tavoitteet kansainvälistymisen mahdollistamiseksi.

Teaching methods

Original plan: Students travel abroad for about a week to a jointly agreed destination. The study trip introduces students to international business. Students visit various companies and universities where they give presentations and actively network.
Amended plan: Due to the COVID-19 situation the trip abroad was cancelled. Students are introduced to international business through literature review, discussions, interviews and presentations. Keeping a learning diary is an essential part of learning.

Coaching session and discussions: 4 x 3 h = 12 h
Independent work: 150 h

Assessment criteria - pass/fail (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)

Pass: Students are able to plan and develop internationalization of their own company based on the company’s needs. They are able to analyze the situation and change the internationalization strategy if necessary. They are able to identify and analyze new opportunities for international growth and develop their skills from the perspective of supporting growth. If necessary, they are able to set goals to enable internationalization.
