Structured Data Search (3 cr)

Objectives (course unit)

The student
- is able to define a basic study question in the health sciences and perform a structured data search
- understands the grounds of good scientific practice
- understands the meaning of evidence-based practice in nursing
- knows the clinical guidelines based on health care
- is able to identify scientific / professional sources of information in their field and is able to retrieve them systematically
- is able evaluate and use information sources

- the most important national and international databases and clinical guidelines in the field of health sciences

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

The student
- knows the basics of a structured data search
- perceives the importance of evidence-based knowledge in nursing.

The student
- is able to describe the structured data search process
- understands the importance of evidence-based practice in nursing.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

The student
- is able to implement a structured data search with detailed explanations
- is able to apply evidence-based knowledge and clinical guidelines in nursing.

Assessment methods and criteria

Seminaaritehtävä arvioidaan asteikolla 0-5, muut tehtävät arvioidaan hyväksytty/hylätty -asteikolla. Kurssin suorittaminen edellyttää, että kaikki tehtävät on tehty hyväksytysti.

Content scheduling

Osa 1: Teoria: sisältää seminaaritehtävän ja muut tehtävät. Seminaaritehtävä arvioidaan numeerisesti, muut tehtävät arvioidaan hyväksytty/hylätty -asteikolla. Seminaaritehtävä sisältää kirjallisen vertaisarvioinnin.

Further information

Toteutussuunnitelma päivittyy orientaatiotuntiin mennessä.
Pakollinen 100% läsnäolo ensimmäisellä luentokerralla, informaatikon tiedonhaun tunneilla ja seminaarissa. Kaikki annetut tehtävät on suoritettava hyväksytysti.

Kurssi toteutetaan osin etänä Teamsin kautta. Jos tähän tulee muutoksia koronatilanteesta johtuen, siitä ilmoitetaan erikseen opiskelijoille.
