- knows the step-by-step process of research
- has knowledge of different research methods and is able to apply the chosen research method in his/her thesis

- is able to evaluate the ethics of the research

The student
- is unable to describe the different stages of the qualitative and quantitative research processes
- is unable to evaluate the ethics and credibility of the research
