Objectives (course unit)

The student knows the basics of information security
The student is aware of the legal and regulatory guidelines for wired and wireless systems and understands the basic infrastructure of telecommunication systems.
The student is aware of the threats coming through the telecommunication network and is able to act in a correct way.

Content (course unit)

Security and secure use of data networks. Licensed and unlicensed frequency bands, free space loss. Mobile network structure (2-5G). The basics of cyber security.

- Is able to identify cyber threats and knows how to protect against them.

- can prepare for cyber threats and protect themselves and business from cyber threats.

Opintojakso on jaettu kahteen osaan: osa 1: kyberturvallisuus, osa 2: mobiiliviestiverkot

Osa 1 tullaan pitämään etäopetuksena 1. periodin aikana korona-tilanteesta johtuen. Osan 2 aikataulut ja toteutustapa tarkentuu myöhemmin.

Osan 1 tentti on suoritettavissa Exam-järjestelmässä myöhemmin ilmoitetun ajan

Evaluation methods and criteria

Opintojakson osat arvioidaan erikseen asteikolla 0-5. Molemmista osasta tulee saada hyväksytty (arvosana 1) ja opintojakson kokonaisarvosana määräytyy osien arvosanojen painotetusta keskiarvosta. Painotus perustuu osien laajuuteen (osa 1: 2 opintopistettä, osa 2: 3 opintopistettä).

Osan 1 arviointi perustuu tenttiin sekä tapaustutkimukseen. Tämän lisäksi osassa on hyväksytysti tehtäviä suorituksia.

Opintojakson osassa 1 käytetään STEK:n luomaa kyberturvallisuuden oppimismateriaalia

Student workload

5 opintopistettä vaatii noin 135 tuntia opiskelijan työtä. Varsinkin etäopetuksessa opiskelijan on kyettävä itsenäiseen ajanhallintaan ja käytettävä aikaa opintoihin. Työmäärä jakautuu melko tasaisesti koko opintojakson laajuudelle (kaksi periodia, 14 viikkoa), joten opiskelijan on hyvä varata noin 10 tuntia viikossa tämän opintojakson asioiden käsittelyyn.
