Objectives (course unit)
Students are able to:
- Apply appropriate calculation methods for data transfer applications.
- Understand basic analogue modulation methods and systems.
- Specify linear and non-linear systems.
- Understand the the functions of a wireless communication system block diagram.
Content (course unit)
Analog modulation and demodulation, linear and non-linear systems, distortion, interference, filters, receiver and transmitter architectures, frequency synthesis, radio frequency measurements.
Prerequisites (course unit)
Basics in data communications
Exam schedules
Opintojaksossa on kaksi välitenttiä, jotka molemmat sisltää sekä teoriaosan (ilman materiaalia) ja laskuosuuden (kaikki materiaalit sallittu). Tenttien tarkempi ajankohta ja toteutustapa tarkentuu syksyllä
Evaluation methods and criteria
Kurssin tavoitteena on ymmärtää ja soveltaa ilmiöitä tiedonsiirtotekniikan maailmasta. Arvioinnissa pyritään testaamaan miten hyvin taito käsitellä näitä ilmiöitä on opittu.
Assessment scale
0-5
Teaching methods
Lähiopetus/etäopetus (tilanteen mukaan, tarkentuu syksylä), itsenäinen opiskelu, kotitehtävät, harjoitustehtävät, simulaatiot, ym.
Learning materials
Tunnilla jaettu materiaali, sekä tabulassa jaettu materiaali.
Student workload
lähiopetusta 40 tuntia, opiskelijan kokonaistyömäärä noin 110 tuntia
