Practical training, Advanced Level Emergency Care (12 cr)

Objectives (course unit)

Student:
- improving and verifing clinical skills
- is able to independently examine and interview the sick or injured person
- safely uses equipment used for the examination, treatment, medication or transfer of emergency patient
- can make a working diagnosis and decides when and what kind of emergency care the patient needs
- can decide the triage for transportation to hospital
- is able to decide not to transport the patient and to qualify their decision, after examining the patient and giving them emergency care, in cases where the patient´s status does not presuppose hospitalisation
- increase medication skills
- are able to guide and support the relatives in emergency situation outside the hospital
- documentation , report
- is able to use authorities network and data transform by computer
- can apply medicine and other disciplines

Basics of Emergency Care and Nursing Science, Basics of Clinical Nursing, Pharmacotherapy and Medical Calculations. Basics of Emergency Care. Advanced Level Emergency Care

Pakollinen orientaatio opettajatutorin yhteydessä ja kaikille yhteinen pakollinen reflektiopäivä 17.2.2020.

Teaching methods

Ohjattu harjoittelu. Opiskelija hankkii itse harjoittelupaikan.

Ks. Ensihoidon syventävien I & II kirjallisuusluettelo. Harjoittelupaikoilla saatavissa oleva materiaali.

Student workload

Molemmat harjoittelut 4 vkoa = 6 op = 162 h. Tästä vähennetään harjoitteluinfoon käytetty aika 2 h ja reflektiotunteihin käytettävä aika 2 h = harjoittelujakson tunnit 158 h / 4 vkoa.

Completion alternatives

Opiskelijalla on mahdollisuus suorittaa toinen syventävien harjoitteluista palkallisena näin harjoittelupaikan kanssa sopiessaan. Tällöin ohjaava opettaja ei käy erillistä palautearviointia opiskelijan kanssa.

Further information

Opiskelijoiden tulee suorittaa lääkehoitopassin lisäosan täyttö molemmissa harjoitteluissa ja palauttaa se ohjaavalle opettajalle. Lisäksi opiskelijoilen tulee suorittaa etukäteen ohjeistettu ennakkotehtävä liittyen Ensihoitopalvelun johtaminen -opintojaksoon. Viikottaista informaatiota ei tarvitse lähettää. Harjoittelun arviointikaavake ja työvuorotaulukko toimitetaan allekirjoitettuina ohjaavalle opettajalle harjoittelun/harjoittelujen päätyttyä.
