Objectives (course unit)
Student is able to use advanced techniques in live sound and live recording. Student is able to collaborate in an international student team.
Content (course unit)
- Modern PA-equipment
- Microphone technique in concerts
- Stage mixing
- Hall mixing
- Concert recording in stereo and surround sound formats
- Planning and implementation of concert sound reproduction and concert recording
- Making and repair of the most common connectors and wires
Prerequisites (course unit)
Basics of the subject.
Evaluation methods and criteria
The students will familiarize themselves with the basic equipment related to live sound reinforcement - microphones, mixing consoles, PA-systems and monitoring equipment. During the course the students gain knowledge of basic connections and operations of live sound systems.

Teaching methods
Contact classes, assignments and hands-on exercises. Voluntary participations in actual live sound events.

Attendance less than 40% and no active participation.
Assessment criteria - satisfactory (1-2) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)
The student attends 40-60 % of the classes and is able to understand the subjects covered.
Assessment criteria - good (3-4) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)
The student attends 60-80% of contact classes and is able to comment on the subjects covered.
Assessment criteria - excellent (5) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)
The percentage of attendance exceeds 80% and during the classes the student participates actively in conversations and given tasks.
