Objectives (course unit)

The student
- knows how to give first aid in the most common emergency and accident situations to people of different ages.

Content (course unit)

- recognition of emergency situations and call for help;
- first aid for a person who is unconscious or suffering from a fit;
- basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation and CPR-D (defibrillation) of children or adults;
- first aid of trauma patients;
- mental first aid

If you want to try Improvement of the grade, please contact the teacher by 7.8 to arrange exam in tenttiterraario in August. After this time improvement of the grade will no longer be possible.

Assessment methods and criteria

100% attendance during the course, including lectures and skill stations.
Active participation in all forms of study
Pass the following:
Resuscitation skills test
Skills test day
Exam: 50% of total points is needed for passing the test

Assessment criteria - fail (0) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)

-Student has not attended lessons and has not completed group assignments
-Student scores less than 50% in exam
-Student did not pass resuscitation skills test
-Student did not pass skills test day

Assessment criteria - satisfactory (1-2) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)

-Student has attended all lessons and completed group assignments (satisfactory level)
-Student has shown satisfactory skills and knowledge (scores 50% or more) in exam
-Student passes resuscitation skills test
-Student passes skills test day

Assessment criteria - good (3-4) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)

-Student has attended actively in all lessons and completed group assignments (good level)
-Student has shown good skills and knowledge in exam
-Student passes resuscitation skills test
-Student passes skills test day
