Objectives (course unit)

Students are able to:
- work in the vehicle repair shop management using the automotive industry software
- serve a variety of different kind customers
- make a workplan for the workshop mechanics
- make a cost estimate to the customer

Content (course unit)

Garage engineering work-based learning takes place in the third year of study during the spring period. The work based learning includes in particular practical customer service skills, product technology, while gaining experience with the different types of companies. It is based on the need of companies to obtain well prepared engineers especially for after sales management and customer service jobs . Work based learning is guided by the company and the of the University of Applied Sciences representatives.

Further information

Students will get their work based learning jobs on their own initiative. Learning task agreement is made between the employer, the student and the teacher of the University of Applied Sciences.

The company must provide guidance into the automotive engineering work.

Work base learning is reported in two different seminars. The first is in the middle of the period is held for second year students. The second seminar will be held at the end of the third year and is held among the third year students.
