Objectives (course unit)

Student is able to
- use advanced sound design techniques for tv
- record diverse sound sources in interior space and outside
- synchronise the most common sound and image formats
- collaborate in an international student team.

Content (course unit)

- advanced sound design techniques for tv
- recording and mixing
- importing images to multitrack sessions and synchronising them together
- implementing sound design products as stereo and/or surround mixing
- Arranging and producing

Further information

Students should have basic understanding of these topics before this course:
- Signal flow in most recording situations, ie most often used cables and equipment for digital and analog audio.
- Microphones and using them.
- Basic using of a DAW. On this course students will use ProTools, and this is not a ProTools Basics course.
- Basic music making skills are not needed, students can also find and edit music for story telling purposes.
Audio Technolgy Basics and Introduction to Sound Design should have been done previously, or similar basic knowledge on audio

Student fails to hand in assignments. Student fails to attend classes.

Assessment criteria - satisfactory (1-2) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)

Student hands in the assignments. Assignments shows decent skills. Student attend at least 40% of classes. Student shows decents participation in classes.

Assessment criteria - good (3-4) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)

Student hands most of the assignments in time. Assignments shows good skills. Student attend at least 60% of classes. Student shows active participation in classes.

Assessment criteria - excellent (5) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)

Student hands all assignments in time. All the assignments shows exceptional skills. Student attend at least 80% of classes. Students shows very active participation in classes.
