Objectives (course unit)

After completing this course students have achieved the following skills:
- to write, present and manage numerical and written data with the aid of computers and software.
- to use appropriate TAMK computer services and network.

Content (course unit)

Basic use of Microsoft's Word, Excel and Power Point softwares. TAMK computer services for students.

Exam schedules

No exams
Return date periods for the practical work as well as for the retake practical work are given during the course.
More detailed instructions will be given in the practical work instructions.

Evaluation methods and criteria

Grading scale is 0-5. The grade is given according to the points given on the mandatory practical work (maximum 30 points). The participant can get maximum 6 extra points from the voluntary computer class exercises. The exercises are to be made only during the class sessions.

Knowledge and understanding of the core network services of TAMK. The basic skills in using Office programs of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Basic skills in creating reports with Office programs.

Knowledge and understanding of the core network services of TAMK. The fluent skills in using Office programs of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Fluent skills in creating reports with Office programs. The ability to use some advanced methods of Office programs in appropriate parts of the reports or in Office programs.

Assessment criteria - excellent (5) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)

Knowledge and understanding of the core network services of TAMK. The fluent skills in using Office programs of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Fluent skills in creating reports with Office programs. The ability to use many advanced methods of Office programs. The recognition and fluent use of appropriate report specific basic and advanced features of Office programs and use of those in reports or in Office programs
