Objectives (course unit)

Students are able to:
- understand the basic methods, techniques and technologies used in software companies to be
able to produce high quality working SW applications.
- understand the basic principles of quality systems, methodologies and techniques used in SW projects and
review techniques.
- understand the basic principles, methodologies and methods in SW testing.
- produce high quality testing plans and act according to them.
- understand basic testing tools.
- understand the basic ideas and methodologies used in SW product management.
- understand the basic ideas used in version management.
- use version control tools in SW projects.
- understand the good design principles and practices used in applications design.

Content (course unit)

All objectives mentioned above are gone through using different teaching practices. Exercises are made as team work during lecturing hours. Presentations are held about current trends in IT industry.

Evaluation methods and criteria

Neljä kpl pieniä projekteja pienryhmissä. Jokainen arvioidaan pistemäärällä 0 - 5. Kurssin arvosana on näiden keskiarvo.

Ohjelmistotuotannon käytäntöjen ja teorian ymmärtäminen sekä soveltaminen on hyvää. Opiskelijalla on hyvät valmiudet ymmärtää alan yrityksessä ohjelmistosuunnittelijan päivittäisiä työrutiineita.

Ohjelmistotuotannon käytäntöjen ja teorian ymmärtäminen sekä soveltaminen on kiitettävää. Opiskelijalla on erinomaiset valmiudet ymmärtää alan yrityksessä ohjelmistosuunnittelijan päivittäisiä työrutiineita. Lisäksi opiskelija ymmärtää ohjelmistoyrityksen pidemmän aikavälin tavoitteisiin tähtääviä työtapoja / menetelmiä / teknologioita sekä ymmärtää ohjelmistoliiketoiminnan perusteita.
