Objectives (course unit)
This course introduces the main tools and techniques of project management.
During this course a virtual project will be defined, initiated and planned by the students.
After completing the course, the students will be able to:
• Understand the purpose of project management
• Act as member of a project team
• Write a project plan
Content (course unit)
• How to set and initiate a project?
• How to form a team and define the roles and responsibilities?
• How to write a professional level project plan?
Location and time
The project mngt course is to be executed during period 2.
Exam schedules
There are no exam for the course. The exam is replaced by the team work ending up with webpages for the virtual firm. The project mngt documents are evaluated and also the webpages are evaluated.
Assessment methods and criteria
The course evaluation is based project documentation (project plan + closing report) and the quality of virtual firm webpages.

Teaching methods
This course is a combination of project management theory an practise. There are lectures, minor exercises and a team works related to year 1. virtual firm.

The course is based on materials provided by the lecturer.
