Objectives (course unit)

The student can
- name hydrocarbon or carbonyl compounds and basic compounds of alcohols, phenols, ethers and esters
- write the structural formulas and basic chemical reaction formulas
- explain isomerization
- explain the chemical and physical properties of organic compounds
- recognize and name the heterocyclic compounds and organic bases
- determine the stereochemistry of the concept and application of the exercises
- identify the most common macromolecules and to present the most common features
- identify the different areas, taking advantage of organic chemistry

Assessment methods and criteria

Performing Exams, Performing and Returning Priority Tasks and Settled Evaluation Tasks, Scheduled Timetable, Group Tasks Presentations.
Proposal: two regular exams + Tabula exams 2-4
At least 50% of the exams at maximum points, the tasks to be evaluated T, H & K and Tabula exams are Pass/Failed

Lectures; precautionary exercises, exercises, group assignments, presentations to other groups

Learning materials

Tabula material, internet, textbook: John McMurry, Fundamentals of Organic Chemistry - or equivalent, tasks mainly from this book.

The student will not get an acceptable result - the breakthrough limit of 50% of the maximum points.

Assessment criteria - satisfactory (1-2) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)

The student completes the exams successfully and returns the agreed assignments, possibly after the request. Participates in teamwork and presentation.

Assessment criteria - good (3-4) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)

Exam results at a good level, performs independent tasks and returns on time. Pretask acceptly done and Tabula-exams answers accept. Participates in the classes to handle topics.
Participates in group assignments and is well prepared to present.

Assessment criteria - excellent (5) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)

Exam Results 4-5, actively participates in the classes to handle the subject, restores all the tasks in a timely manner, the answers are basically correct.
It demonstrates commendable activity in group assignments and their performances.
