Objectives (course unit)

The student plans, implements and reports a research or development project tied to working life. The thesis is based on the concepts, methods and information that are relevant to your field of expertise. Based on these, the student chooses the subject of the thesis as a concrete working life development project.

The student is able to solve demanding problems in research and / or innovation. He / she is able to apply new knowledge and methods as well as to combine the knowledge of different fields as required by the thesis project.

The project approved by the thesis supervisor may include an artistic or other functional part (music performance, recording, pedagogical project, teaching material, etc.) or it may be a research or study type work.

Content (course unit)

The thesis will be constructed as a project portfolio containing
1) a thesis report describing the progress of the project, its objectives, the methods used and the results obtained, or dealing with an artistic project from a defined, professionally relevant point of view
2) documents related to the project
3) description and evaluation of the development of personal competence.

The subject of the development project is acquired by the student himself. When a bachelor's thesis is done in cooperation with an external actor, the target organization designates a contact person for the development task.

Familiarization with publications on the implementation or implementation of projects related to the thesis, as well as relevant research or operational methods (eg. teaching methods) for the thesis project.

The thesis portfolio:
- a report on the project and its results
- documents related to the project or materials produced during the project
- critical self-assessment, in which the activity is assessed in relation to the set objectives and the views expressed in the professional literature

Location and time

Opintojen lähipäivät toteutetaan Y-kampuksella, Kuntokatu 3, C-siipi, tila Paja erillisen aikataulun mukaisesti. Lisäksi pidetään sekä lähi- että etäohjausta niin yksilöllisesti kuin ryhmässä.

Opiskelija saa työstään palautetta sen tekoprosessin aikana sekä suullisesti että kirjallisesti. Esittelytilanteessa arvioija ja ohjaaja antavat suullisen palautteen, jonka lisäksi opiskelija saa vielä koosteen palautteesta kirjallisesti arvoinnin yhteydessä.

Luennot, demonstraatiot, etätapaamiset, lähiopetus, keskustelut, vertaisohjaaminen

Learning materials

Sovitaan opettajan kanssa.
Materiaali sisältää tutkimusopintoihin liittyvää materiaalia, opinnäytetyöhön liittyvää yleistä materiaalia sekä jokaisen opiskelijan omaan työhön liittvää materiaalia.

Student workload

Lähiopetus ja opiskelijan henkilökohtainen ohjaus on yhteensä 27 tuntia. Itsenäistä työskentelyä on 29 opintopistettä.

25.8. klo 15-16.30 väliesittelyt ja opiskelijoiden esittämät aiheet, esittelypäivistä sopiminen
29.9. klo 15-16.30 artikkelin kirjoittaminen, opinnäytetyön viimeistelyprosessi ja sen vaatimat toimenpiteet
28.10 klo 10-15 opinnäytetöiden esittelyt ja arviointi
11.11. klo 10-15 opinnäyttetöiden esittelyt ja arviointi

Practical training and working life cooperation

Opinnäytetyö tehdään tiiviissä yhteistyössä työelämän kanssa.

International connections

Materiaalista osan tulee olla kansainvälistä.
