Objectives (course unit)
Students learn basics of real estate and building trade and its role in the national economy. Students learn about the field-related sectors, legislation, enterprises, and organisations. Their understanding of the operation of the field deepens.
Students learn the basic concepts of architectural design and the progress of building design projects. Students have an understanding of the meaning of architectural design in guiding the building design.

Orientation week programme and introduction to UAS studies
Development of building trade in Finland and internationally
Role of real estate and construction cluster as the basis for wellbeing
Introduction to design and construction regulations and other information sources
Introduction to design and construction in students’ home region
Visual and oral presentation
