Objectives (course unit)
The student
- is able to prepare patient for the operation;
- is able to monitor vital signs;
- knows how to apply the principles of aseptic practice and is able to follow standard infection control precautions.
Content (course unit)
- patient observation and maintenance of patient airway
- aseptic procedures and surgical equipment in operating theatre

Student workload
Orientoivan harjoittelun kokonaistuntimäärä on 27 h, joka sisältää osallistumisen kontaktiopetukseen(16h) ja itsenäisen opiskelun(11). Orientoivan harjoittelun tunneilla käsiteltävät sisällöt sisältyvät Perioperatiivisen hoitotyön teoriaopintojen tenttimateriaaliin ja itsenäinen osuus osoitetaan tenttimateriaalin lukuun.
