Objectives (course unit)

This course describes the internationalization process of SMEs. Companies need versatile information in different stages of internationalization. Students will make a project for a case company. Students analyze international marketing environment and they learn how it affects company’s international marketing strategy. The course covers international entry modes and decisions related to international marketing mix.

After completing the course, the students will be able to:

Analyze international marketing environment of a target country.
Describe the main entry modes in international trade.
Apply the knowledge of the international marketplace to international marketing strategy.
Analyze marketing mix decisions when entering to a new target country.
Work effectively in a multicultural team.

What are the main product strategies when entering to a new target country?
What are the factors affecting export pricing and promotional mix decisions in the international marketplace?

The student knows the basics of conducting an international business project. He/she can use the basic terms and can define the features of international business. He/she can perform the given tasks assisted. He/she participates in the teamwork but takes responsibility of his/her own work.

The student can apply the main concepts of international business in his/her project. He/she is able to describe the international business project accordingly. He/she participates in the teamwork actively and can give feedback constructively. He/she contributes to the final outcome of the project and takes responsibility for his/her own as well as the group’s work.

The student masters the concepts and principles of international business projects. He/she is able to conduct a fluent and reasoned international business project plan and he/she can search diverse solutions of action and justify them. He/she is able to combine alternatives creatively and can create new solutions. He/she works responsibly and in a committed manner considering the community and field requirements and needs.
