Objectives (course unit)
After completing the course students will
- understand the meaning of research information in developing work practices
- be able to utilise suitable sources of current domestic and international business information
- be able to apply field-related theoretical starting points into practice
- know the most common research and information acquisition methods of the field and can apply them in the thesis
- know the research and development process
- be able to consider research ethical principles at all stages of the work
- show interest in developing the field of business
- produce a neat thesis report and other related material
- be able to present and defend the thesis and related competence in a professional manner
- be able to solve problems according to set objectives

Prerequisites (course unit)
1. ja 2. vuoden opintojaksot tai vastaavat tiedot ja taidot. Nuorisoasteen opiskelijat osallistuvat opinnäytetyöorientaatioon, joka sisältyy Hyvät työelämävalmiudet 2 -opintojaksoon. Aikuisopiskelijat puolestaan osallistuvat yhden illan kestävään opinnäytetyön orientaatioon.
Further information
Opinnäytetyön aiheen hankkii opiskelija itse. Opinnäytetyön tulisi olla toimeksiantona tehtävä suunnittelu- ja kehittämisprojekti. Opinnäytetyö voidaan tehdä myös pari- tai ryhmätyönä ja se voi olla eri aloja integroiva, mutta aiheen tulee kuitenkin liittyä opiskelijan koulutusohjelmaan. Opinnäytetyön orientaatio on suoritettava ennen opinnäytetyön aloittamista.
