Objectives (course unit)
Students are able to fit suitable methods in the instruction of learners of different ages. They have the ability to take into consideration the demands set by different types of learning environments and interest groups. They have the skills for instruction that meets the aims and to give and get appropriate, constructive feedback.
Students become familiar with the instruction of the basics of music at music institute level and have obtained skills and knowledge necessary for the instruction of learners of the basics of music. Their instruction complies the objectives set for it and they are able to carry out instruction duties according to the curriculum. They have ability to treat the pupils individually and choose methods for individualized and learner-centred teaching.
With the help of the skills gained during the course, the students are able to perform duties to meet focused aims. They are able to choose appropriate and creative methods to meet aims of the instruction and to reflect their observations.
Students have ethical skills, learning skills and work community skills.

Assessment methods and criteria
Auskultoinnin ohjaus ja siitä saatava palaute ovat arviointi, samoin opetusnäyte. Pedagogiikan ryhmätunneilla arviointi tapahtuu annettujen tehtävien pohjalta. Arvioinnin perusteet ovat tehtävien suorittaminen ja niiden laatu.

Teaching methods
Pedagogiikan ryhmätunti, auskultointi kahden musiikkiopiston musiikin perusteiden ryhmän kanssa, opetuksen seuranta opettajan antamien ohjeiden mukaisesti.
Learning materials
Auskultoinnissa käytetään Tampereen konservatoriossa käytössä olevaa materiaalia. Pedagogiikan ryhmätunneille materiaali sovitaan erikseen.
Student workload
Opetusta 33 x 60 min/ opetusryhmä, pedagogiikan ryhmätunteja 27 tuntia, opetuksen seurantaa 20 tuntia. Opiskelijan itsenäistä työskentelyä 49 tuntia.
Content scheduling
Sovitaan erikseen.
Pedagogiikan ryhmätunti pidetään maanantaisin klo 9-10.30 erillisen aikataulun mukaisesti.

Hyväksyttyyn suoritukseen opiskelija suorittaa vaadittavat tehtävät ja valmistaa opetusryhmänsä harjoitusoppilaitoksen vaatimusten mukaisesti.
