Objective of course
Students are familiar with the stylistic features and techniques of harmony of western art music of the 20th century and are capable of writing music in the styles discussed during the course. They have broadened their perception of harmony. They have the ability to use theoretical and conceptual knowledge in writing music. Students are capable of reflection, i.e. have the skill to view their work analytically and thus develop their own reasoning skills. They have the ability to apply their knowledge and skills in the professional life.
Course contents
Selected styles and techniques of harmony in 20th and 21st century music.
Teaching methods
Individual instruction, stylistic exercises and sketches or other assignments.
Assessment methods
Exercises and assignments are handed over for assessment to a teacher and one colleague.
