Objectives (course unit)
The student
- is able to manage normal labour and delivery independently
- can respect the wishes of women in labour and guide them about the process of labour, and related alternatives
- is able to foresee and plan care of women in labour and make decisions on evidence based knowledge
- can perform medication during labour and delivery
- is able to perform intensive care of women in labour
- can break the membranes and set foetal monitoring
- is able to perform breech delivery if the obstetrician is not available
- can care for and support women in labour and their families in special situations
- manages pre- and postoperative care of women in labour
- can act in a relevant way when the patient’s condition deteriorates abruptly
- can resuscitate newborns with a team
