Objectives (course unit)
The course provides overview and tools to successfully run a business driven student project. There are two implementations available: one for all students and another as an introduction to TCA students (TAMK Consulting Academy).
After completing the course, the students will be able to:
Adopt the role of business projects.
Evaluate feasible projects.
Plan and implement a project independently and as member of a team.

Student workload
This is a 5 study point course which means 135 hrs of work in total. The 3-hour lectures take place twice a week. In addition the students are expected to read the book and do other exercises in between the lectures.

Completion alternatives
There are no alternative ways or to pass this course. The participating students must commit to attend the course every time since most lecture times consist of work in small consulting teams that will do the group exam together at the end of the course.

IMPORTANT: This course implementation is FOR ALL STUDENTS, NOT as an introduction to TCA.
After completing the course, the students will
- know certain theories and models about the change in organisations
- be able to analyse what kind of actions should be done to support positive changes in teams and organisations
- have a basic understanding of management consulting as a profession and practice
- have improved their cross-cultural communication skills in a challenging team work in "consulting teams"

Student has achieved the course objectives sufficiently. Student understands the basics of change management and can describe some key concepts and models in that area.

Student has achieved the course objectives well and developed his/her consultative skills in practice. Student is able to explain and use some key change management concepts and models. Group exam result:3-4.
