Law Concerning Persons (5 cr)

Objectives (course unit)

The course covers the key fields of law concerning persons focusing on the right to use a certain name or identifier, privacy and data protection, information security, guardianship, and the rights of patients.

After completing the course students will be able to
- understand the main concepts, principles and rules of personal rights law, guardianship and the rights of patients
- understand the main concepts, principles and rules of privacy and data protection
- understand the basics of information security
- apply above-mentioned norms and analyse and solve related legal problems.

What is personal law?
What is the meaning of right to use a name, and identifier?
What is the meaning of the rules of guardianship?
What are the main provisions of law on the rights of patients?
How are privacy and data protection regulated?
What does data security mean?

2. year studies or similar skills and knowledge.

Opiskelija osaa määritellä hyvin opintojakson aihepiirin keskeisiä käsitteitä ja malleja ja pystyy tekemään kohtalaisen perusteltua analyysiä. Opiskelijalla on valmiuksia soveltaa oppimaansa opiskelussa ja työelämän tilanteissa.
